माननीय उच्च न्यायालय के निर्देशों की पालना बरकत नगर में निगम की प्रभावी कार्रवाई

जयपुर। iसतर्कता टीम द्वारा बुधवार सुबह बरकत नगर में सड़क चैड़ी करवाने के लिए पुख्ता कार्रवाई की गई। उल्लेखनीय है कि माननीय उच्च न्यायालय के निर्देशानुसार महेश नगर 80 फीट रोड रेलवे फाटक से टोंक फाटक पुलिया, बरकत नगर की सड़क की चैड़ाई 40 फुट किया जाना है।
आज की प्रभावी कार्रवाई में 49 आवासीय मकान, 22 दुकानें धवस्त एवं लगभग 250 मीटर तक सड़क की लम्बाई शामिल है। सतर्कता टीम के साथ आयुक्त सतर्कता श्री दिनेश शर्मा, बजाज नगर एवं गांधी नगर से बड़ी संख्या में पुलिस बल, सहायक पुलिस आयुक्त श्री संदीप, सिविल लाईन जोन आयुक्त श्री उम्मेद सिंह, राजस्व अधिकारी श्री दिनेश कुमार पारीक, अधिशाषी अभियंता श्री डी.के. मीणा, सहायक अभियंता श्री डी.के. गुप्ता, कनिष्ठ अभियंता श्री के.के. सिसोदिया थे। कार्रवाई में 4 जेसीबी, 13 लोकण्डा मशीन, 6 डम्पर, 2 ट्रैक्टर, 1 होस्ट इलेक्ट्रीकल, 1 मिनी ट्रक, 2 गैस कटर एवं लगभग 100 श्रमिक शामिल थे। मौके पर कई दुकानदारों द्वारा स्वेच्छा से अतिक्रमण भी हटाया गया।


JIFF lifetime achievement award-2013 goes to Sharmila Tagore

Jaipur. Ranked as one of the prestigious film festival among the other Asian film festivals, JIFF -2013 will start from 30th Jan in Golcha Cinema at 5pm at Golcha Cinema. Famous Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore will be honoured by JIFF lifetime achievement award-2013 on 30th Jan at 5.00 (Venue Golche Cinema during the opening ceremony).  217 films will be screened in 11 screens at 8 different places of the city during the five day film festival. There are 28 awards in different categories. Oscar winning director Marc Baschet is the chairperson of international jury of 14 members.  LIFE GOES ON is selected as the opening film of JIFF. Om Puri and Sharmila Tagore are in lead roles followed by Soha Ali khan and Girish Karnad. Film is directed by London based Sangeeta Dutta.

 

Keeping in view the worldwide fame of JIFF, the organizers have arranged 16 workshops and seminars on various cinema related subjects. The cine personalities, going to participate in these seminars are Jaiprakash Chowksey, Komal Nahta, Arun Dutt, B.B Nagpal, Prasoon Sinha, and Santosh Jain. One of the major attractions of JIFF will be "Best world cinema", screening of films which have already been awarded in festivals such as Oscar, Berlin, Canes, Bafta etc. Modest Reception (Greece), one thousand gram (Germany), the etic (Greece), Mumbai (India) some of them. दलित सबसे भ्रष्टाचारी: आशीष नंदी

जयपुर। पॉलिटिकल साइकोलॉजिस्ट आशीष नंदी ने शनिवार को जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल में दलितों पर विवादास्पद बयान देकर जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल को फिर से विवादों का अड्डा बना डाला। आशीष ने एक सेशन में भारत में दलित भ्रष्टाचार पर बात करते हुए काह कि दलित भ्रष्टाचार फैलाने में सबसे आगे हैं। उन्होंने साफ-साफ कहा कि दलित,एससी,एसटी और ओबीसी के लोग अधिक भ्रष्ट हैं।

भारत के 64वें गणतंत्र दिवस पर जाति सूचक इस टिप्पणी के बाद आशीष नंदी को कड़ा विरोध हुआ और जयपुर में उनके खिलाफ गैर जमानती धाराओं का इस्तेमाल करते हुए केस भी दर्ज किया गया। आशीष के साथ इस ख्यातनाम साहित्य उत्सव के आयोजक सुजॉय रॉय पर भी एससी-एसटी एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया और साथ उनकी गिरफ्तारी की मांग उठने लगी।

विरोध में धरने पर बैठे प्रदर्शनकारी

दलितों के खिलाफ बयानबाजी के बाद जयपुर में दलित और एससी एसटी सामाजिक संगठनों ने विरोध जताना शुरू कर दिया। कई संगठनों के प्रतिनिधी जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल के आयोजन स्थल तक पहुंच गए और धरने पर भी बैठ गए। इनमें मीणा महासभा और जाट महासभा सहित कई सामाजिक संगठनों के लोग शामिल थे। हालांकि आरोपियों पर कार्रवाई के आश्वासन के बाद शनिवार की रात प्रदर्शनकारी धरना हटाने पर सहमत हो गए।

बयानबाजी के इस खेल में उत्तर प्रदेश की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री भी पीछे रहने वाली नहीं थी और उन्होंने भी राजस्थान सरकार से आरोपी साहित्यकार को जल्द से जल्द गिरफ्तार करने की मांग की है। साथ ही आरोपियों पर एससी एसटी एक्ट के तहत कड़ी कार्रवाई करने को भी कहा हैे।

Royals Management XI beat Authors XI by 7 Wkts at Jaipur

Jaipur. Royals Management XI beat Authors XI by seven wickets in a friendly twenty20 match at KL Saini Cricket Ground, which was being organised as a part of the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival, at Mansarovar in Jaipur on Wednesday.

 

Captain of Royals Management XI S Sreesanth and Authors XI skipper Charlie Campbell went for toss on camels. Authors XI won the toss and opted to bat first. James Holland led his team with gutsy 38-run knock, hitting seven boundaries. He was well-supported by opener Sam Carter, who scored 36 runs with the help of six boundaries.

 

For Royals Management XI, Rajasthan Royals's regular wicket-keeper Dishant Yagnik did a wonderful hat-trick and picked four wickets for just nine runs. From the other end, Ajit Chandela clinched two wickets.

 

RR team manager Sushil Tulaskar (1/10), CEO Raghu Iyer (1/15), pacer S Sreesanth (1/17) and Tehelka's Editor-in-Chief Tarun Tejpal (1/22) took one wicket each and bundled-out Authors XI at 114 in 19.4 overs.

 

In the second innings, Royals Management XI chased down the target in just 9.5 overs. S Sreesanth steered the batting line-up with his inspiring 44 run-knock and smashed boundaries all over the ground. He hit four huge sixes and received an overwhelming applause from the large crowds that had gathered to watch the match.

 

Royals reached 50 in 3.3 overs and 100 in 7.3 overs. Opener Sushil Tulaskar played a steady knock of 46 runs and remained unbeaten to win the match by losing only three wickets.

 

Dishant Yagnik was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his four-wicket haul and awarded an autographed bat and other exclusive Rajasthan Royals merchandise. VSM Maj. Gen. KJS Thind, GOC 61st Cavalry Suburbia, honoured all the players and handed over the trophies to both the teams.

 

"DSC Jaipur Literature Festival and Rajasthan Royals both are the signatures of this state. It's very good to see both of them coming together and hosting this beautiful event. It was a wonderful match and everybody present here enjoyed a lot," Maj. Gen. KJS Thind stated.

To add to the excitement of the glamorous event, the 61st Cavalry Regiment of the Indian Army - one of the three last remaining horsed cavalry army regiments in the world - gave a special performance to mark the occasion.

Fauja Singh, centenarian marathon runner to participate in the senior citizen's run

101 and still STRONG…exemplifies that age IS JUST A NUMBER

Mumbai. Fauja Singh, centenarian marathon runner and a world record holder in his age bracket started running at the age of 88. Known as the Turbaned Tornado, his current personal best is the 2003 London Marathon with 6:02:00, and his marathon record, for age 90-plus, is 5 hours 40 minutes, at the age of 92, at the 2003 Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

This year, Fauja Singh will be participating in the Senior Citizen's run- 4.3 km. This being his first Mumbai marathon, he expressed, "Every bit of money that has been raised is for charity. Whether Marathons or local religious tournaments, all the raised funds will go to charity. This is what has kept me blessed and healthy.  My son, who lives in England, has been my source of inspiration. We were seeing a marathon once and I wondered why the people were running aimlessly. I decided to run my first 20 kms in the London Marathon in 1992 under the training of my coach Mr Harminder Singh. He graphed my career and today I view life differently".

A man of substance, Fauja Singh makes it a point to consume healthy foods and trains regularly."Keep running" is what he advices the youth of today.

Singh plans to keep the Hong Kong Marathon in April 2014 as his last official race, but if he feels fit and fine, he will continue after that as well. He admits that it is the West that has given him massive support and acknowledgement by making him the only person in the world to have the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch twice.

Ice fell from Jaipur sky

Jaipur. An unusual event happened in Thursday knight in Jaipur. Out of the blue at 3.20 AM  large pieces of ice fell and
scattered on the meadow. Witnesses said the ice pieces was about half a inch in height, long and wide about a inch. It fell about 5 minutes in continue.

International authors to enthral readers at Jaipur Lit Fest

Jaipur. The sixth annual DSC Jaipur Literature Festival has been scheduled from 24th to 28th January, 2013, at Diggi Palace in Jaipur. The international list of authors participating at the festival this year is the most cerebral, intellectually-stimulating and high-powered ever fielded.

Festival will play host to subjects as diverse as the history of miniature painting and war reporting, Sharia Law and gay and lesbian literature, the Jewish novel, the 18th century sexual revolution, detective fiction and the literature of 9/11. It will focus on new writing from Latin America and Iran; examine the economic prospects of India.  We'll look at the mixed legacy of the British Empire, the decline of America and the rise of China.

In fiction this year, DSC Jaipur Literature Festival will host Commonwealth Prize winner Aminatta Forna from Sierra Leone, Booker Prize winner Howard Jacobson, two Orange Prize winners Linda Grant and Madeline Miller, and Abraham Verghese- without doubt the best-selling writer of Indian origin in the US. We have two of the most respected novelists in the Arab world, Ahdaf Soueif and Tahar Ben Jalloun.

Festival welcome's back two of Pakistan's most celebrated wunderkinds, Nadeem Aslam and Mohammad Hanif and look forward to introducing Jamil Ahmad. From Chile comes Ariel Dorfman, the playwright and celebrated author of Death and the Maiden. We introduce Indian audiences for the first time to our favourite historical novelist, Lawrence Norfolk, and three of Britain's most popular literary writers, Sebastian Faulks, Deborah Moggach and Zoe Heller, whose award-winning books have been adapted into the highly acclaimed movies Birdsong, The Exotic Marigold Hotel and Notes on a Scandal.  We are also proud to present two of the greatest poets in Europe, Simon Armitage and John Burnside.

Sharing his enthusiasm Festival Co-Director William Dalrymple said, "It's going to be an absolutely extraordinary five days and only wish it were possible to clone oneself so that one could attend five sessions simultaneously."

The non-fiction list is especially strong this year. We have no less than three winners of the Samuel Johnson Prize for non-fiction, Frank Dikkoter on Mao, Wade Davis on Everest and Orlando Figes on Stalin's purges, while Pulitzer winner Andrew Solomon will speak on his remarkable new book,  Far From the Tree. 

From Harvard we have Diana Eck, whose book India: A Sacred Geography has been one of the hits of the year, the philosopher Michael Sandel who brings his popular BBC Radio 4 series, "The Public Philosopher," to Jaipur and the leading cultural theorist, Homi Bhabha. 

From Columbia comes the much-revered post-colonial and post-modern literary critic andthinker Gayatri Chakrovorty Spivak. From Oxford comes acclaimed authority on Eastern Europe, Timothy Garton Ash and the Shakesperian Christopher Ricks. DSC Jaipur Literature Festival present three of the world's most acclaimed artists in conversation: Anish Kapoor, Marc Quinn and William Kentridge.

Nandan Nilekani will discuss Breakout Nations with Ruchir Sharma, author of this year's bestselling book of non-fiction. Some of the most admired essayists in the world will also be speaking: Elif Batuman of the New Yorker, Pico Iyer of Time Magazine and Tim Parks and Ian Buruma of the New York Review of Books.

On a lighter note to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the James Bond films we have a special session featuring Sebastian Faulks, who wrote the latest book in the franchise, Devil May Care, and Ian Fleming's biographer Andrew Lycett.

जयपुर। स्वामी विवेकानन्द की 150 वीं जयन्ती वर्ष के पूर्ण होने पर ''स्वामी विवेकानन्द सार्धषती समारोह'' के नाम से किये जाने वाले वर्षभर के कार्यक्रमों का भव्य शुभारम्भ आज विषाल शोभायात्रा द्वारा गुलाबी नगर सहित सम्पूर्ण देषं में प्रारम्भ हुआ।

राजस्थान क्षेत्र के लगभग 700 स्थानों पर विवेकानंदजी की विशाल शोभा यात्रा निकाली गयी। शहर में कार्यक्रम के संयोजक हरीहर पारिक ने बताया की जयपुर में दो स्थानों से विषाल  शोभायात्राएं निकली।

Women's Voices to reverberate at Jaipur Lit Fest-13

Delhi/Jaipur. The sixth annual DSC Jaipur Literature Festival has been scheduled from 24th to 28th January, 2013, at Diggi Palace in Jaipur. The five-day festival will encompass a wide range of activities including debates, discussions, readings, music, and workshops for the audiences.</p>    <p>The surge of national solidarity on women&#39;s issues finds echoes and resonances at the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival 2013.
