Melas is a person  who believes that designing is nothing beyond the world around you and you will have  to create and element as element is design.

He said element is a creation that can be replicated as a  pattern. He stressed that the  designer should create an identity for himself or herself and the products  designed  should be identified by its patterns and  values.  True   design is one that could create a brand identity  that is connected to similarity in piece  created.

He said famous designers like Cavially was known for using leopards and zebras in his design and David Yurman was known for his  German ropes. In their work the elements of wildlife and ropes were easily identified and one could easily spot the art pieces as the creations of the masters..

Talking about the jewellery product designing, he said the designer should  depict the  romance of the gemstones in its varied hues. He said a jewllery as  an art object should have a story to  tell and the designer should be able to tell the customer how the product is unique and he should give all the details relating to the making of the jewllery to the customer

"The designer should be able to master the blending elements to achieve a separate and  distinct identity and a product thus created will not only get him name, fame but also money" added Melas.

He said  jewellery is  always related to women, but in ancient India even the men used to wear  jewllery and they still wear it. He urged the young designers who attended the  discourse to involve in unisex designs which would be for  both males and females. He said  masculine  jewellery with its on distinct identity of colours and metals are identifiable and the designers should look beyond cufflinks, buttons, bracelets and rings.

Kasliwal insisted that the young designer should first experience and then define a situation. He said designing is nothing but using experience as a source of design.

He  urged the  aspiring designers to adopt their own design philosophy and work accordingly. He said Rajasthan is the biggest location  for inspiration for any designers as it has colours, music, folklore, monument and landscapes.
