True design is one that could create a brand identity that is connected to similarity in piece created.

Talking about the jewellery product designing, he said the designer should depict the romance of the gemstones in its varied hues. He said a jewllery as an art object should have a story to tell and the designer should be able to tell the customer how the product is unique and he should give all the details relating to the making of the jewllery to the customer
"The designer should be able to master the blending elements to achieve a separate and distinct identity and a product thus created will not only get him name, fame but also money" added Melas.
He said jewellery is always related to women, but in ancient India even the men used to wear jewllery and they still wear it. He urged the young designers who attended the discourse to involve in unisex designs which would be for both males and females. He said masculine jewellery with its on distinct identity of colours and metals are identifiable and the designers should look beyond cufflinks, buttons, bracelets and rings.
