jaipur. 6 days CBSE National Basket-ball championship 2012 was inaugurated with great fervor in G R Global Academy at Benad Road.
Commonwealth games, gold medalist & Arjun awardee Mrs. Krishna Poonia along with her coach, Dronacharya Awardee Mr. Virendra Poonia, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the day and was welcomed by the Principal Mrs. Gayatri Takhar, Deputy Director CBSE sports, Mr. Pushkar Vohra was the Guest of Honor and CBSE Observer, Mr. Rajveer Singh, Basketball Secretary Mr. Shyam Singh Choudhary and Chief Referee Mr. Hassan Khan were the other special guests during the opening ceremony. All the guests were traditionally welcomed and honored by presenting momentous & shawls. Chief Guest Mrs. Krishna Poonia hosted the flag which was followed by the march past & all the participant teams. After giving her precious blessing to all the teams and sharing the unforgettable moments of her life, she declared the CBSE National Basketball Championship 2012 open. Managing Director Mr. Jagdish Poonia presented vote of thanks to conclude the ceremony. Opening matches were played between DPS Gurgaon and central point school Nagpur; Sainik school, Tilaiya and Manford school,Kerela ; and between G.R. Global Academy, Jaipur and Springfield Pub. School, Amritsar. Their scores were 60-11, 13-45 & 28-48 respectively. Afternoon matches were played between DALMSS Rohaiya Varanasi & BVM, Chennai and Kagiranga Guwahati & Agra and their respective scores were 28-39 & 39-66.
